Ayurveda

Ayurveda means “life knowledge” in Sanskrit, and is the sister science to yoga. Ayurveda is the ancient practice of traditional East Indian Medicine and is in direct alignment with yogic philosophy, utilizing the wisdom of the elements: earth, water, fire, air and ether.

Using the techniques of Asana (body movement), Mantra (repetitive sound), Pranayama (breath control), along with oil treatment therapies, marma therapy, dietary and lifestyle recommendations, Ayurveda provides a unique approach to aid in holistic well-being.

Ayurveda uses the ancient knowledge of the elements to help understand human nature and it’s cycles. When one can better understand the self, it is easier to live in harmony with the earth, and harmony with the self.

Ayurvedic Health Counseling with Jane Miners

Ayurveda is the traditional Indian practice of life science. The philosophy behind Ayurveda is that each person has a dominant nature/body type termed "dosha".  The three dosha, Kapha, Pitta, and Vata, are associated with the elements earth, water, air, and fire and are present in everyone, yet most people have a dominant dosha or a balance between all three.  Understanding your nature can help bring more balance to your whole system; body, mind, and spirit, by finding the right foods, herbs, and even levels of physicality that best suits each person.

Contact Jane to schedule an introductory consultation to help you understand your nature to bring more doshic balance to your life.
